Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We know that children need daily art lessons to express their creativity. An arts education has been shown to improve cognition, problem solving skills, and creativity in our students. My students need access to shapes and colors to share their unique insights and become better writers.
My young scholars are eager to learn and enjoy discovering new facts.
They learn by doing and creating. My students love to use paints and crayons to express themselves. They are starting to work in collaborative groups and learning to share. My students are curious, active and are ready to take on many challenges. Art motivates them to learn across the curriculum. Since they are just starting to write they need a medium that will help them express their thinking. My little artist need crayons, pens, paint pens, and paper to problem solve and share ideas.
My Project
This project is so important because it offers students a chance to include art in their education. My students deserve the opportunity to explore their creative side and collaborate together and learn from one another. My small scholars can create several art pieces as they learn across the curriculum. But they will have to use problem solving skills to decide how their work will come together. For math they can create addition stories using the die cut shapes and crayons. They will assist each other as they process their learning. My students will become a creative community. Writing and art can be a powerful vehicle to express themselves. Art can empower my young learners to write as they respond to literature in a nurtured environment with materials that enhance their creativity.
All children are artist and currently we have no art classes, but the artistic talent and desire abounds.
Art can help express emotions, help problem solve, help foster imagination and teach children about themselves. My students will use art across the curriculum to be creative confident problem-solvers. We need art supplies to inspire kids to be respectful and responsible individuals.
