This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Panda’s Let’s Explore!: Lunar New Year program provides a fun and meaningful way for students to learn about the history, symbols, and traditions of Lunar New Year. Through interactive activities such as trivia, cultural exploration, and learning simple Chinese words and phrases, students build curiosity and respect for global traditions in an age-appropriate way.

This project brings the Lunar New Year to Harlem by transforming Panda’s curriculum into hands-on, creative art experiences for students.

Students will use paint, paper, and creative tools to explore Lunar New Year themes like animals of the zodiac, lanterns, dragons, and the colors of celebration. By combining storytelling, cultural learning, and visual art, students deepen their understanding while staying engaged and motivated.

By connecting Panda’s curriculum with creative expression, this project supports both cultural awareness and joyful learning. Students will celebrate Lunar New Year through art, collaboration, and exploration—creating meaningful connections to traditions while developing creativity, focus, and confidence.
