These items will help me add more visual arts into our curriculum. I have been thinking of new ways to create different art projects during our day-to-day in first grade.
Art is an outlet that some students need during the day, and I am trying to incorporate it whenever I can.
One of the things that I am implementing is silly drawings. These are funny sentences that tell the students what to draw, but they aren't typical things. For example today's silly drawing was to draw a hamburger eating a taco. The kids started giggling and were so excited to do this small activity. I had students that really let their creativeness show. It gets them thinking outside the box, and I love it. The pencil sharpeners will help keep my students' pencils and colored pencils sharp so they can bring their imagination to life. I can't wait to see all the other fun drawings that my students create. I am planning on using the ink and markers to create an early finisher activity. I can print out new silly drawing prompts and put them in the bin. This will give a fun activity as well as promote reading and visual expression.
