Help me give my students alphabet dough mats and dough, dot-art painters, paintbrushes, collage beads, pom-poms, and glue sticks to add to our art center.
My students are creative, full of ideas, eager to learn, and are ready to change the world! They come to school each day ready to try new things in order to grow personally and academically. As their teacher, I want to ensure that they have every possible chance to succeed.
Pre-kindergarten is an exciting time for a child's cognitive development.
Our students are no longer toddlers and are becoming more independent as we prepare them for kindergarten. Along with learning numbers, colors, shapes, songs, and letters, they’re also learning to share toys, take turns and communicate their feelings. Students learn through play, talking with peers, and working at centers. This year is such a valuable time in a child's life.
Many of our students come from low-income families with limited resources. The pandemic puts many restrictions on our normal activities. I am working hard to make things as safe and fun as possible. It is my goal to provide resources and supplements to give every student the best education.
My Project
It's a given that art is important for all children. Early on, especially in pre-school, it’s about the tactile feeling of creating art – the fingers in the paint and hands on the paper. Children use art daily to strengthen their fine motor development.
Art is more than just painting!
Art for our PreK students involves anything that they can scribble, paint or make with their hands. The alphabet dough mats and play-dough will be a great learning extension to help build my students' letter recognition and letter formation skills. The Dot Art Painters will add an exciting, new art activity to our art center. The paintbrushes, collage beads, pom-poms, and glue sticks will help replenish our dwindling supplies.
Art is an integral part of our day. My students love going to the art center; it is one of the most hands-on and loved centers we have. My students love creating artwork to hang up in our classroom and to take home to their families.
