This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Supporting this Donors Choose.org project is crucial for fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for our Unified Art Class. This project focuses on a unique and diverse group of students, including those with special needs such as autism and Down syndrome and will directly impact the lives of these students and their art partners who play a vital role in supporting them throughout their artistic journey.

The items proposed in this project have a significant impact on various aspects of the learning experience of these artists by addressing social-emotional learning, encouraging connections, and fostering creativity.

You would help us create an inclusive space where every student, regardless of their abilities, can thrive and find joy through art. Social-emotional learning will provide a platform for students to develop crucial interpersonal skills. Engaging in collaborative art projects not only promotes teamwork but also helps in building strong connections among classmates and art partners. The items we have asked for facilitate activities that encourage students to get to know each other better. Building meaningful connections is especially important in a Unified Art class, where diverse abilities and backgrounds converge. This project aims to break down barriers and promote understanding, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and accepted. Art plays a pivotal role in self-expression, and by providing the necessary resources, you will empower students to explore their creativity freely.
