My Students

Do you remember what it was like when you would walk into your art class? My students are getting the opportunity to enjoy art as an elective during its second semester. Our school is working on creating and building an art program.

My students are excited about electives being offered at their school.

Many of my students have not taken art classes, but they have a lot of talent. After taking two semesters of art, many students are looking into art related careers. Our school is a charter school located in the city and is 85% free and reduced lunch. Many of our students travel over an hour to get to school.

My Project

The cubby storage would help the students have storage in the classroom. Right now, I do not have any place in the classroom for students to store work. They currently are keeping it in their small lockers, causing the art work to get bent and destroyed. With this storage space, I could give the students a safe place to store their art work, helping preserve its quality.

This storage cubby would allow more students to partake in art as an elective, allowing them not to worry about where they can store their art work.

Students can use this storage to help them build a portfolio of art work for college entrance into a fine arts program.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
