I teach in a K4-5th grade school with a strong emphasis on working collaboratively to implement the Common Core State Standards in reading, mathematics, and writing. We are a culturally-diverse community of learners that offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and small class sizes through SAGE and AGR to support student learning. Our dedicated, multicultural staff implements rigorous instruction based on the Common Core State Standards through incorporating technology and research-based practices. Art, music, and physical education activities ensure our students are well-rounded. Our students are consistently recognized for positive behaviors through the use of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) activities. Before and after-school care is available.
My Project
These materials will enable my students to be fully engaged in doing arts and craft projects. I like to reward my students with a fun art and craft project every Friday as a reward for their hard work throughout the week, but it has been very difficult for everyone to be able to participate because of lack of materials at home.
These art and craft projects also allow my students to practice and build their fine motor skills and using/developing their imagination as they are engaged in doing fun and colorful projects.
