So far this year, I have learned how much the children have loved making crafts.
We do crafts all together as a class but they also get time to create whatever is on their mind. They get to work on their fine motor skills along with their creativity. We are also working on their handwriting. Having the lined paper to work on their writing skills. We have recently been making many bird crafts and having feathers to add to the bird would make it so much better. We always need markers.
I also added a few different series of books. The kids have come very far in reading and have started learning to love chapter books. All they want to do is read but I do not have many chapter books at the moment. My goal is to have enough choices so that they will be able to find a challenging book that they enjoy reading. Seeing the growth they have made so far is incredible. I would love to see them continuing to read even when it is not time to read. We have started reading the book series My Weird School and they have gotten so into it that they want to read it during recess. I would love for them to not only find a book but to find a book that has a series so they can continue reading.
The best way for the kids to succeed in reading is to find books that they truly enjoy, which will be easy on the Kindle Fires. The only way to do this will be by giving them enough options to choose from. I talked to a few different teachers about what their kids enjoy the most and picked those for my wish list.
