My Students

My children in my classroom are from a rural county. Our county, like many counties surrounding it, is majorly stricken by poverty caused by unemployment, broken homes, and drug use. For example, some of the children are from single-family households, foster care, living with their grandparents, from a working family, or have a disability in learning. I worry that the children in my classroom don’t get the attention they crave in their homes. Nonetheless, these children love school. My students come in every day ready to learn, play, and interact with other students their age. This is an awesome opportunity that I am privileged to provide. I believe each child, no matter where or in what conditions each lives, deserves the opportunity to learn, communicate, and develop a great imagination. Early childhood is the time for all children to develop and learn through play, and social interaction with other children.

My Project

As a child we see the world as a playground and as a canvass. It didn’t matter whether or not we could actually draw. What mattered is the thrill of creating something beautiful. Each art supplies I choose will help created these master pieces. For example, the paint dot, paint brushes, different art collage supplies, art supplies shelf and an art ease will enable my students to display their projects that they have created. Also, each month the children have a specific theme in which they learn fundamentals in all area such as math, literacy, and writing. With these supplies my children will be able to created their learning experiences in many different ways and also within many different learning styles. Children can develop each skills and often express themselves in create art pieces of what they are learning. The art supplies would also allow students to display their learning experiences with others. For example, when the teacher engages hands-on activities, they are learning what the children is learning and how to grow or help on their children skills.deepening on the level of understanding about a specific topic. They have their students and their curriculum, teaching the way they teach. The arts integration really pushed us to collaborate. Opening up our practice and reflecting on it is a big part of what we do. I believe It's a win, win situation for children within all areas of learning.
