This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I am aware of the daily challenges many students face at home, in school, and in their community. But, I am also heartened by the talent, curiosity, and excitement my students share, despite obstacles they may face.
My students are creative, vibrant, and curious learners who long to experience art through all of their senses.
They are pre-K through 5th graders who will benefit from creative expression in my art room.
My Project
We are a creative, active, and busy group. We use a lot of paint, paper, and play dough in our art room. Our creativity is only limited by what we have to work with, and while we are great at making art with what we have, we could do even more with some basics.
Painting, 3D projects, sculpture, and paper construction keep us engaged, build creativity, and help us learn, but our supplies are consumed quickly by my 250 Pk-5th grade students.
Please help us purchase these essential but consumable supplies so we can continue to be as creative as we can be.
