"Every Child is an Artist" My students all want to be able to express themselves in the multiple ways that art allows. My students constantly want to learn new art methods and history.
Every Child Deserves Art!
My students come from all walks of life. We are a high poverty K-8 school in Philadelphia. My students have a passion for learning but have many obstacles to overcome both at home and in their neighborhood. Every day, we try to create an environment where they feel safe to explore their ideas and creativity. Art is an excellent outlet for many of my students and really inspires students to be creative thinkers!
In the art classroom we will be using markers to add color to our projects and designs for our art portfolios for the remainder of the school year. My students love using markers. They can control their strokes of color and the Crayola brand has bright colors that allow our projects to be seen. Students will also be able to recycle our old dried markers to create brilliant liquid water colors.
Color in the art room is a basic need!
Students enjoy being able to use colored pencils to control where they are coloring. Students enjoy being able to add color to their art projects. The rulers will be used to replenish our supplies as well so we can create our rainbow lines projects and add math to our art lessons!
