During the 2024-2025 school year, we were able to fully restock our school store as a result of your contributions. Our school store is a key component of our school's climate and culture plan, providing an opportunity for students to be recognized for their positive contributions to our school community and demonstration of our core values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Caring.\r\n\r\nOur goal is to build positive relationships with students and help them constructively resolve conflicts. A key component of this work is having a system of rewards and acknowledgments for students. These rewards honor the work they put in to creating the community we strive for. Our school store is one of the main places where students can cash in points they earn in this capacity. I wish you could have been there to see the looks on all of their faces as they saw our new and improved school store! With your help, we created rewards that motivated our kids and helped them succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1723662929822,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-build-a-school-store/8530372/","projectTitle":"Help Us Build a School Store!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jillian","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp574921_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1453384428224","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msconeys"},{"teacherId":9420515,"projectId":8698699,"letterContent":"Your generous contributions have placed my school on a path to having a sought-after sensory room that will allow out students with autism to have a safe area where sensory overload fades and is replaced with a calming, supportive environment. With these additional supports, our students are able to take the extra time to sooth, calm, and re-orient themselves to focus on learning. While this room may support all students who need it, it is especially crucial for the students who are in this kindergarten through second grade Autism Support classroom as better understanding their own sensory and learning needs, improving their abilities to self-regulate, and advocate for these supports will set them up to be lifelong learners in these early ages. The noise-reducing earmuffs as part of this package will enable our students to have a more peaceful atmosphere during whole-school activities leading to increased inclusion, and the chewy necklaces and fidgets allow for a safe, appropriate way for students to engage their senses. Further, use of markers and visual aids will allow our students a modality for self-expression and exploration. Thank you again for your kind, contribution, and our students will be able to use and learn from them this year and in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1733418781969,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-needs-for-our-autistic-support-r/8698699/","projectTitle":"Sensory Needs for our Autistic Support Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Weible","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9420515_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1704482017596","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9420515"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_90841","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":185,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":32,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"6.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":49.4,"schoolId":90841,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John Welsh Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John Welsh Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/philadelphia-city-school-district/john-welsh-elementary-school/90841"}
