I teach twelve students with severe disabilities in a high school serving a community having a disproportionate number of low-income residents unable to provide socioeconomic advantages for their families. Our school serves students in grades 9-12 and boasts rigorous academics, dedicated teachers, and a supportive learning environment.
Despite their physical and other disabilities, my students are eager to do their best.
They want to learn all they can in order to be successful one day. All receive free lunch in the school cafeteria.
My Project
Because my students tend to come from families able to provide few economic advantages, they tend to be at risk in the way to express themselves through art, but it seems that I quickly run out of material.
In order to make it possible for my students to enrich themselves through art, with People Shapes Project Kit, a ready-to-use craft kit, they will create self-portraits, favorite storybook characters and more.
With the Crinkle-Cut Scissors students will create scallops, ripples, waves and more. each pair features a different design. With the Peel and Stick Magnet Dots, students will be able to make any art project magnetic.
My students, eager artists, will express themselves while making art projects.
