Help me give my students real canvas for acrylic and oil paintings. To understand the Art Masters, my students need to have experiences painting on canvas.
My students are in grades 3-5 in a special education program. Their superpowers include autism, ADHD, muscular dystrophy, and other cognitive challenges.
My students have the drive to demonstrate to themselves, their families, and others, that they can succeed!
My students, in a special education classroom, have strengths and talents! We use those strengths and talents to boost self-esteem and thus encourage a determination to accomplish academic and social skills that are more difficult. My students are driven through technology and art. I love to see them have opportunities to think out of the box and create things from their minds. I’ve purchased canvas for a fall acrylic painting and they came out beautiful! I’d love to give them additional opportunities to create works of art on canvas!
DonorsChoose.org, along with your financial support, will provide enough materials for the children to express their artistic abilities while learning about materials available in the world of art! Let creativity begin!
My Project
We need to move beyond paper and crayons. My talented students need to paint with acrylics and oils on real canvas. I want the children to have that experience and understanding of the artwork created by the old Art Masters, to feel the painting take form through their own brush strokes and color application, to appreciate the artists that left their works of art for the world to enjoy. It all depends on your donations.
Please help us get enough canvas for several painting projects.
Lessons about artists and their styles will increase reading, writing, and personal connections with artists.
We hope to have a gallery showing at the end of the year!
