Art Makes Learning Fun!

Help me give my students some colorful art supplies so that they can learn their letters and numbers in fun, creative ways.

My Students

My school is ​rural, Title I school in Tennessee where poverty is high and experiences are limited. I serve 32 children in grades K-5 in an intensive intervention setting. These students are pushed every day to achieve high levels of academic excellence, and they work hard daily to achieve our rigorous expectations. My goal is to get them the necessary materials to help them achieve their greatest potential. These children truly want to learn and work hard in my classroom to be successful students.

My Project

The items that are requested are things that I use quite often in my intervention classroom. They get depleted quickly so I am always need to replenish these items.

Anytime that learning is fun and creative, students tend to retain the information better so I always try to incorporate art into my lessons, especially with my younger students.

The construction paper and colored paper will be used by my students to turn their learning into art. The sheet protectors will be used to display work in the hall and protect our games for future use.

The paper cutter will be used to cut out shapes, letters, numbers, game pieces, etc. for my students. Since I use a paper cutter extremely often, I am always having to replace the blades on it. It saves so much time and saves my hands from throbbing in pain by using a cutter with sharp blades.

The dry erase marker cap erasers are to replace one that are old and worn out. We received new Kleen Slate boards in a previous Donors Choose grant and we have used them so much that the maker cap erasers are making our boards look nasty. New ones will help us to keep our boards newer looking longer.
