My students go to a Title I school. I have a variety of students with 40% of them receiving free and reduced price lunches and 14% of them with special needs. There is a grand total of 165 students K-12. The school combines students from around the area and many rural students as well as students from neighboring districts.
Their experience in my class is important.
In one school week, I see students from grades kindergarten to twelfth. My students' needs are different with every class, but they all mean so much to me as an educator.
In the coming years, I want to integrate literature into my Art classroom. I want to encourage a love for reading through Art. With these books I will be to bring my students new heights in their art work. I will be able to share these stories and illustrations with my students and bring about a love for reading through art.
Literature builds experience.
Children expand their horizons through various experiences like picture books. Help me build my Art library. So, I can share books like Color Dance, Perfect Square, Mouse Shapes, and Mix It Up to help introduce the elements of art: color, shape, form, line, etc. Help me enrich their experience.
