This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the new art teacher I am looking to build a classroom library for students to extend literacy into the art room. My student population is 95% economically disadvantaged and many are below grade level reading. I will use this library as part of our station rotation, for lesson integration, and for early finishers.

By creating this library I am able to offer an opportunity to build reading skills.

Additionally these books also support idea generation, reinforce art concepts from our lessons, expand their knowledge of art history, and SEL goals.
