My special education students need an artistic outlet to let out their feelings and emotions whether it is before, during or after their reading/writing/math activities in the small group pullout environment. They love to draw, color, cut, illustrate, paint, sculpt/mold using paint, play doh, markers, scissors, tape, and pens, color pencils, and other materials that gives them that creative outlet and help them focus, calm down and regulate their emotions.
With your help and support, we can give them these materials and help them when they are struggling with feelings and emotions.
When they can self-regulate their emotions, they focus more and pay attention in order to start and complete their work and do their best.
