My Students

Students of Red Cliffs Elementary (RCE) are members of a rural Utah school district that prioritizes personalized learning. Students demonstrate mastery of core knowledge, skills, and dispositions through means that are engaging and exciting to them.

RCE Students have resiliently owned their learning in person and online in the face of COVID-19.

Learning environments have evolved school-wide from in-person to online and back again as circumstances dictate, but they also continue to shift on a per-pupil basis. Students now have reliable digital access to teachers and curriculum from wherever their learning is taking place. Digital tools have meant more flexibility in how students demonstrate their learning in class and it has also allowed learning to continue while a student is quarantined. Students continue to take advantage of these opportunities. They could use access to use more access to physical learning resources.

My Project

This project will fund the purchase of books to create an art learning library for Red Cliffs Elementary. The chosen books will be an in-depth resource for students to mine while creating projects.

These books will give students access to varied and high-quality information on art techniques and art's relationship to their natural world.

Various parts of the library will be available for in-class and at-home learning depending on student needs. The library will also be used as a resource by students who would like to better understand fundamental skills and as an extension aid for students who would like to progress further in a specific area.

Currently, students have access to my knowledge as their teacher and their peers as fellow artists but this library would be a treasure trove of other voices they could use to advance their learning. My students' passion for art will be greatly served by your funding of this project, thank you.
