This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade class aims to capture the curiosity and desire of students to learn thorough their creative capacities.

My fabulous first grader scholars are creative creatures who really grasp to a imaginative hands on approach to learning.

My first grade scholars are inquisitive and really grasp a hands-on approach to learning. Student learning focuses on critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication as they develop writing skills.

My firsties are dedicated learners who come to school eager to learn. The school where I teach services students of low socioeconomic status and English language learners. Many of my students fall into these groups and need many different modalities to not only learn the English language but build the essential skills and abilities needed to succeed in the 21st century.

My Project

My students emerge themselves in an environment where they can focus and develop their multiple skills to build the foundation for a lifetime of success such as motor skills, language development, inventiveness and communication skills. I believe through both art and writing they can develop in these capacities. At their age, it is essential for students to have the opportunity to express their experiences and thoughts using various mediums whether a pencil or paintbrush. These young learners need access to art and writing supplies as they develop critical foundational skills. Research supports that art instruction enhances basic reading skills, language development and writing skills. Having both art and writing tools can help develop these indispensable skills and make learning more engaging.
