I teach in a low-income school. Many of my students don't get to experience enriching activities outside of the classroom. I like to bring in as many engaging activities as possible to make their learning experience something they will always remember.
My first-grade students are so eager to learn.
They learn best through hands-on activities and real-life experiences.
You can connect students to learning by providing them with educational resources that inspire, motivate and equip them to be life-long learners.
My Project
I incorporate art into the classroom. We are in need of art supplies.
Students will be using water color, glitter, and oil pastels to create individual art projects.
These projects bring confidence to the students. They are surprised about the beauty they create on paper.
The students also recite poems weekly. Students have their own poetry binders. I like the poems to be copied onto card stock for durability. Many students come back to our classroom years later and say they still have these poetry binders. The poems often contain science, math, and reading standards. It's a fun and creative way to learn.
