Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love their enthusiastic faces when my students use manipulatives or hands-on activities. My students encounter many difficulties inside and outside our school site. Our school is located in a Latino low-income area. Students qualify for free lunch. The majority of our students are English Language Learners. Parents face many struggles to support students at home. During the school year, we have to deal with lock-downs due to gang violence around our school.

Despite all the challenges that our students have to face, they love to learn and work in school-related activities.

They come to school hoping their future will be brighter for them and their families.

My Project

Using Mr. Sketch Scented Markers, my students will be able to create amazing art projects. We live in a community with many social and economic disadvantages. Therefore, It is very important to provide opportunities for students to enhance their creativity.

In kindergarten, students enjoy coloring and drawing.

I want to provide them different options during art, math, and writing. I want them not only to enjoy creating, but to enhance their senses with the wonderful smell of these markers. This will allow us to integrate all our senses into our classroom projects and allow students even more opportunities to be creative!
