My classroom is full of energetic, creative, and motivated students. During distance learning, my students have been a source of inspiration as they push through a situation that has been anything but easy. This is a diverse group of students who come from a variety of backgrounds and home situations. Each member of our classroom has shown perseverance and grace during virtual learning. They have been simply amazing!
Hands on projects are a favorite in first grade.
They continually say they "love" art, science and social studies. Many of our art lessons are based on the season but also based on artists that we study. They are always excited to show off what they have made. It is wonderful to see what they can do!
My Project
Each week I strive to present a new art project for my students to enjoy. Having the requested art materials allows me to choose projects that are exciting, creative, and fun, giving my students the much needed time to enjoy more hands on learning in their own homes.
Some of the materials requested for my students are oil pastels, tempera paint, and watercolors so that the projects include a variety of mediums to keep students engaged and excited.
Many of the art projects that are created are based on examples from a real life artist. Not only will my students be creating new projects, but learning about artists who use similar mediums to create a similar project.
