Students choose books they love, which builds independence, engagement, and a habit of daily reading. Several students in particular have gravitated toward the graphic novels — they're reading more frequently, discussing these books with their peers, and showing increased confidence in selecting books on their own.","fullyFundedDate":1755733182959,"projectUrl":"project/love-for-graphic-novels/9478169/","projectTitle":"Love for Graphic Novels!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Obico","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3466040_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1520399197760","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3466040"},{"teacherId":3466040,"projectId":9478088,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. They have helped make books more viable, and easier for students to access. Before, the books would get pushed to the back of the shelves making them less accessible physically as well as visually. Great titles were languishing in the shadows. Or they were passed over because they were hard to reach. \r\n I have used the pool noodles to fill in the space behind the books so the spines are toward the edge. This makes it easier for the students to see the book spines, as well as access the books. I've also used the bins to help students go to favorite series. \r\n\r\nWhile the changes look small they make a huge difference. \r\nThank you again for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1755733183096,"projectUrl":"project/open-books-open-minds/9608276/","projectTitle":"Open Books Open Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Loo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/684295"},{"teacherId":5425106,"projectId":9160857,"letterContent":"I want to thank each of you for your generosity and commitment to education and my students. Currently, we have four students who are new to the country: two who speak Spanish, one who speaks Arabic, and one who speaks Hindi. Giving the students the chance to use an iPad has changed the dynamic for these students when then they have the ability to express their thinking with other students and adults in the classroom. \r\n\r\nOver the past month, the students have established their own checkout system for the iPads, ensuring that they remain accessible to all when needed. It has been heartening to observe my English-speaking students also taking the initiative to use the iPad, as it allows them to communicate better with their classmates.\r\n\r\nOur classroom greatly appreciated the generosity given by all of our donors.
