Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to create, and it fills my heart to give them as many resources as possible. A wide variety of materials ensures engaging and enriching experiences for all learners. Materials like paper, pencils, erasers, and markers will be used by artists of all ages every day. Unique materials, such as model magic, floral foam, paint sticks, and texture plates, will be used for specialty projects at various points throughout the year. Products like Tide pens and Clorox wipes will help keep our clothes and classroom clean (I do teach on a cart, so having plenty of stuff to clean up the mess we make across the school is so appreciated!). This year, I have also included illustrated versions of Taíno folktales and stories. It is important to me that my students see their culture reflected in the stories we read and the are we create.
