Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are participating in the Students Rebuild 2023 Welcoming Refugees Project. It's an opportunity to raise awareness about the plight of refugee youth. I'm inviting my students to create posters to turn into art activism! Students will use the watercolor paper and the Clickart marker sets to create poster art to welcome young refugees to our communities. Students will love writing welcome message with the colorful Clickart marker sets!

When students work for something bigger than themselves, and to help others, everyone thrives.

For every piece of art we submit to Students Rebuild, before June 9, 2023, the Bezos Family Foundation will donate to organizations providing humanitarian relief around the world. My students’ artwork will be a perfect example of the kindness ripple effect extending outward and beyond our classroom community to communities worldwide.

The beautiful picture book, Light for All, will inspire us as we write welcome wishes to young refugees on posters handmade with love! Sharing stories of the refugee experience strengthens empathy and compassion for refugees worldwide.

We're ready to use our voice, compassion, and creativity to welcome our new neighbors! Thank you for supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and arts education in our classroom.
