I have the great opportunity to teach five classes of World History with two of them being AP World History classes. I have loaded these students up with work all year and they have responded every time by stepping up to the plate and working even harder. My students have increased their writing skills tenfold since the beginning of the year and I am duly impressed. I have been very inspired by their work ethic.
Most of my students have a tough time coming to school with all their supplies.
These students come from a lower socioeconomic group but make up for it with their dedication to their studies and things they can control. They have bonded throughout the year in my class and everyday that I get to teach them the histories of the world I feel honored to be their teacher.
Help my World History students learn about other lands and cultures with a classroom map that can be used by all of my students this year and beyond. I use to have a 1970's roll down map but it blew up on me in the middle of class when the springs broke (yes, the students laughed at me) but I pressed on to help them gain a better understanding of the world we live in. We are now using the internet but it is not as useful as the old map. So I am need of a new Nystrom Political U.S. and World Combo Map Classroom Pack with Relief Globe to be able to better instruct my students about the world we live in.
Students will use the maps daily for warm up activities in which they will be called to the map with an Expo marker to pick out key locations that we will be discussing in our upcoming lessons for the day.
In addition we will be utilizing the map to emphasize the importance of how civilizations formed from the dawn of time from specific land formations such as river and mountains to help shape the political systems that we have to this day.
