I am privileged to teach twenty-one amazing fourth graders! Our school has an extremely strong and supportive, yet very diverse community. I believe it is my duty to give all of my students as many educational experiences and opportunities as possible in order to enable them to do their best learning and growing.
My fourth graders are inquisitive, imaginative, and innovative children that have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge!
These students come to school each day with smiles on their faces and stories to share. I work to foster an environment that encourages positive social interactions, and I also strive to engage my students in meaningful activities that evoke critical and creative thinking.
It is my esteemed honor to teach these enthusiastic and passionate learners every day! I want to prepare them for life outside of the classroom in the twenty-first century by incorporating as much access to technology as possible in our classroom routine and through the use of developing personal strategies that they can use throughout their life.
My Project
The items that I have selected would greatly help my students meet with greater levels of success. Wobble stools are amazing tools! Research shows that items like the wobble stool promote healthy bodies and active minds. They allow students to release excess and/or nervous energy while building core muscles in their body, thus enabling students to focus on the tasks at hand more fully while simultaneously strengthening their body.
Xun Kuang once said, "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." I want my students to be as involved in their learning as possible!
The removable highlighter tape and dry erase sleeves are incredible tools that allow students to really dive deep into texts and critically think about their reading. The ability to write on and around printed text is typically limited for students when materials need to be reused. The highlighter tape allows students to easily identify pieces of text they are interested in discussing without covering the rest of the reading they are examining. Similarly, the dry erase sleeves allow students to annotate on entire pages of text without fear of ruining the original reading material. While reading instruction seems to be the main use of these tools, they will actually be used for all academic subjects in school, as reading plays a critical role in mathematics, science, and social studies as well.
Your donation would go towards giving my students these amazing tools that will help them best meet their educational needs! You could really make a huge impact on my students! Thank you for visiting my donation page and for your consideration!
