Archaeologists for the Future

Help me give my students archaeology kits to go and look for fossils and other finds.

My Students

In our school we are dealing with low earning parents, and so our students come in and have life struggles they are overcoming. We have a high number of LGTBQ students, and school is their safe place.

Our students come to school every chance they get, and I would like to add to the educational opportunities that they have.

We have a half day for make up, and a lot of students come just to be at the school.

My Project

Our school is in Price, Ut, which is known for having a lot of fossils. In my project we will be taking the kids out and having them look for fossils, which fits more to paleontology.

However, the skills they are learning are also used in archaeology and so with this project they would be learning how to deal with fossils and with artifacts.

We also have a well known archaeologist on site who would help us. We have a close connection to the local museum and so would donate anything to them. This would open a new world to our students, to see what occupations that they could prepare themselves for.
