This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Where to begin...my students are amazing! They're extremely loving and have so much to offer. Unfortunately, many come from a low-income household. They don't have the experiences of having pets that require different care. My school was able to get tadpoles this year and they came in smaller containers for the children to observe the process of a frog's life cycle. Now that they have all become frogs, we are in need of tanks. I received 3 extra frogs due to the teachers being unable to care for them. I'd love for the children to have them as class pets so that they can learn responsibility on how to care for a pet and enjoy observing the frogs as they continue to grow. These frogs require space for them to move around since they are fully aquatic.

Watching our frogs grow will give the students a sense of responsibility, as well as, educating them about differences in habitats.

The fish tanks requested will be used by 200 students in grades 1 and 2 from now and many years to come. The tanks will be in the classrooms for students to see each day.
