This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help us to purchase more supplies to keep our classroom aquarium clean. I brought in my fish tank for our classrooms library/ calming area. What was supposed to just be a tool to bring students closer to nature has turned into a multi-learning tool.

The aquarium has become a favorite responsibility in our classroom.

Every week students are allowed to choose jobs and the "Fish Hatchery Technician" is the favorite. Students help to feed the fish and to clean the tank.

The tank has been helpful with students trying to become emotionally regulated. The fish tank is in our library/calm area and students will often watch the fish swim around. It seems to help bring them a quiet and calm stimuli.

The aquarium allows us to scaffold our learning about habitats. When learning about habitats students observe and document our fish.
