Help me give my students access to engaging activities while we are learning remotely! Using an iPad with Zoom will allow me to share learning apps with my class during virtual teaching sessions.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in one of four substantially separate special education classrooms, serving students on the Autism Spectrum at an urban elementary school in East Boston in kindergarten and first grade. All of my students are also English Language Learners, so we focus heavily on early literacy skills. My students are bright, curious individuals who each have their own unique set of strengths and needs. We are learning how to regulate our emotions, communicate our wants, and work together to build relationships.
Thank you for helping my students reach success!
My Project
Remote learning is hard for everyone but especially for students with special needs. My students struggle with attending to a screen for long periods of time and need lessons to be exciting and engaging. Learning through Zoom has created a limited learning experience compared to teaching in-person.
Our goal is to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences to ensure continued student success during remote learning.
My little ones benefit from visual supports to keep them on track. An iPad will allow me to create picture schedules and choice boards for my students to use. I will also be able to share applications and educational activities while on Zoom with my students. The stylus enables us to write letters, sentences, math problems, and even draw! These activities can carry over once in-person learning resumes. The Apple Care package is essential should the iPad get damaged at school.
It is incredibly important that my early learners have opportunities to engage with learning that are fun! The activities that an iPad creates will increase participation and focus during virtual and in-person learning.
