My Students

My science students are taking AP Environmental science and attend a rigorous arts and academics high school in New York. They come from a variety of economic backgrounds and cultures.

They are excited to learn, but need books that connect to topics we are learning in class so that they can present and synthesize information about something they are passionate about.

My students are very talented and well-rounded. They are hard-working students who take pride in their art and their academics!

My Project

Help prepare AP Environmental Science students for our book presentations! This year, students will be reading two nonfiction environmental science books. We need a class library so that students do not need to purchase their own copy of a book.

My AP Environmental Science students will choose a book that interests them and will present what they learned to their classmates.

The books range in topic from climate change, natural disasters, species, agriculture, and humanity's impact on the environment. Having different books to choose from caters to students' unique interests and will hopefully spark an interest in reading more nonfiction.
