This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
This year, our school introduced AP African American Studies to our curriculum. Throughout the year, students across multiple classes learned about the black experience through literature, music, art and film. Together, we have confronted our biases, challenged ideas, and come to better understand the beauty of our productive struggle.
As we prepare for the AP exam, I want to create a space to celebrate all that we have learned - our history, our future, and the community we have built together.
I am currently planning an end the year cookout full of soul food, snacks, fun, diasporic music and games!
