My Students

I am currently a biology teacher as well as the Boys Varsity Head Coach. Our population consists of students who are first generation English learners and more than half of all students are on free or reduced price lunch. As a coach for 18 years, I strive to bring out the best in my players by teaching them that having a strong work ethic can produce positive results. Learning how to work with others in a team or group setting is an invaluable life lesson. When kids learn teamwork, they learn how to socialize, how to cooperate, how to cope with failure, how to work for a common goal, and how to accept responsibility for their actions. As you know, the importance of teamwork is essential in today's multidisciplinary world!

My Project

My students use easel paper all the time and we are down to our last pad. This classroom essential is so important when they work collaboratively during research projects and weekly assignments. These pads are great because there is a sticky side where you can just post them on the walls without using tacks. It’s also a great visual for students to refer to. We do gallery walks all the time and students love learning from each other. The glue sticks are used when they make models or need to put information in their interactive notebooks. The like to create 3D models that require gluing.
