This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With a passion for both the artistry and the technology behind animation, I have guided students through the intricacies of storytelling, character design, and the ever-evolving world of animation software. Having taught A/V, Graphic Design, and as the current Video Game Design and 3D Animation teacher and Business Professionals of America sponsor, my teaching philosophy revolves around creating a supportive and inspiring environment where students can explore their unique artistic voices while honing their technical expertise.

My students are in grades 9-12.

They work hard all year to get ready for competition (Business Professionals of America). In this competition, they showcase their skills from graphic design to computer animation to video production. They start working on their individual event in September, as they get ready for the Regional Competition in January. We have been very successful in having about 75% of our students advance to the State Competition each year. The State Competition is always held in a different city throughout the state. These students work hard to be able to showcase their skills at the regional and state level. This past year we had our first ever student advance to the National Competition in Anaheim, California. It was an amazing experience. For my students events, they are needing laptops, cases and speakers to showcase their projects. They present their project using a projector to a couple judges where they get graded on the technical aspect of their video as well as how they present it. As the number of students we have competing has grown bigger and bigger every year, we are in need of laptops, laptop cases, and speakers to ensure the students have everything they need to be successful as they present and showcase their videos to the judges.
