This year I have moved up to a new grade level and I am getting to keep many of my students for a second year! While this is so exciting, I am trying to reinvent parts of my room, so they have an enriching experience. My kids deserve that! In addition, my teammates are still trying to build their classroom resources as they are early in their teaching careers. This project would impact our whole unit of 3rd graders at our school as these resources will be shared!
Our students are a very diverse group of kids from all over the world.
They are kind, friendly, and LOVE to learn. We have bonded over shared experiences and love our 3rd grade community.
My Project
We cannot wait to dive into some informational texts about books! This year as a 3rd grade team we are excited to bring new and fresh animal texts to our students prior to beginning our new writing unit. With these books, students will be able to research the features of text in non-fiction writing. After their research we will use the books to design our own animal display posters on the computer!
With the art supplies, students will have access to materials for exploring their creativity throughout the year.
Art materials are something teachers need, but don't always have the funds to buy. This will allow our classes to explore different mediums and interests.
