My Students

Our students struggle every day with the hardships that face every child. This is compounded by low income and by the fact that many lack even the basics skills and motivation to read. Acquiring these books will open their minds and imaginations to the world of reading. Help us start that journey!

School Demographics: My school is located in north central Arizona providing education for students from middle and lower income families.

The school currently has approximately 360 students enrolled with 30% being minority (Hispanic, African American, and Asian Pacific) and 81% being from economically disadvantaged families. Finally, over 61% of our students are considered homeless youth which puts them at considerable risk that we work to overcome each and every day in the classroom and through these projects.

My Project

Despite all the hardships our students face each day they all bring a positive attitude to class and they truly want to learn. Their achievements here will help them prepare and succeed in high school and college. It will also provide them invaluable skill that will help them find their place in society as productive young adults. Animal Farm takes politics to a whole new level and in fact as whole new realm. Here we find that the struggle between the animals and man (the farmer) is greater than we ever imagined but not the animals. It is such a wonderful story of taking a dream and making it real no matter what the cost or obstacles. The animals take over the farm only to struggle with the problem of equality. Seeing this from their perspective will certainly give the students a fresh look at an old problem -- treating everyone the same. In the end it will teach and reinforce one of life'™s toughest lessons -- all men and women are created equal!

You can help start this process by funding our project and make a difference starting right here; right now!

Just like starving children, our schools are starving too, and need your help. Your donations will ensure the future of our children, country, and world. Our children deserve an education including the books and materials necessary to build their minds and imaginations. Watching them learn and grow is a miracle that teachers see every day; they need you to make the miracles come true.
