I've honestly never seen these kids get so into books before. Everyone was willing to read aloud (which they hate), and even when we read individually... they were so excited to read the book that they choose to read it even when they had free time. We were also able to have so many discussions about the books and the Holocaust because they were actually curious about it!\r\n\r\nWe were able to do projects about the novel as well, like our draw a scene assignments. They would have to draw a picture based off of what was happening in the chapter, and it was interesting to see what they thought was important and see their creativity. I felt a little uncomfortable taking pictures of the students, but they willingly offered their \"comfort animal\" to pose with the book, which I thought was adorable.
