This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each year special ed students at our high school do a research paper on animals. Students select an animal of their choosing, and conduct research using databases and books provided by the library. Our current collection has a reading level that is too difficult for these students and lacks the visual interest, and varied topics these students are looking for.
Funds will be used to purchase several series of National Geographic books at varying lexile levels.
Books will cover a wide variety of animals including mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles etc.
