  • Books in Spanish

    Funded May 9, 2025

Thanks to your generous donation of books in Spanish, our high school library has been able to expand its collection in ways that directly support our students' growth as readers and learners.

These new titles have given Spanish-speaking students the opportunity to see themselves and their experiences reflected in literature, while also providing engaging, high-interest stories for those studying Spanish as a second language. By making these books available, you have helped create a more inclusive, welcoming space where all students feel represented and valued.”

  • The Classics for Classes

    Funded Feb 22, 2025

Your donation of classic books to the high school library has had a significant impact on students' access to essential literary works. By replacing lost or outdated copies, your donation has ensured that all students, particularly those in AP courses, can engage with required reading materials without financial barriers. These books serve as a foundation for critical thinking, analysis, and discussion, enriching students' academic experience and helping them prepare for college-level coursework.

Additionally, a well-stocked library fosters a culture of reading and intellectual curiosity among students. With access to classic literature, students can explore timeless themes, diverse perspectives, and historical contexts that shape modern thought. This contribution not only supports curriculum requirements but also inspires a love for literature, encouraging students to engage with complex ideas and develop strong analytical skills that will benefit them beyond the classroom.”

  • Charged Up to Learn

    Funded Feb 6, 2025

Your donation of computer chargers has impacted both the academic success and equity in our school. In a 1:1 district, where each student is assigned a personal device for learning, access to a reliable charger is just as crucial as the device itself. Many students face challenges when their chargers are lost, broken, or unavailable due to financial constraints, which can hinder their ability to complete assignments, engage in online learning, or participate in collaborative projects. By providing chargers, your donation has ensured that students can consistently use their devices, maintain uninterrupted learning, and stay connected to digital resources both in and out of the classroom. This stability supports better study habits, increases engagement, and ultimately contributes to higher academic performance.

Beyond academics, your donation also promotes digital equity, ensuring that all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, have the same opportunities to succeed. In many cases, students from low-income families struggle to replace lost or broken chargers, leading to disparities in access to educational tools. By eliminating this barrier, your donation has helped to create a more inclusive learning environment where every student has the same chance to participate fully in their education. Additionally, it reduces stress and frustration among students, teachers, and parents by preventing disruptions caused by dead or unusable devices.”

  • Animal Books

    Funded Jan 22, 2025

Your donation of National Geographic books has significantly enhanced the ability of our high school special education students to conduct research. These nonfiction, high-interest books provide accessible and engaging content that caters to diverse reading levels, making complex subjects more approachable.

The vivid imagery and well-structured information in these books aid in the development of visual literacy and comprehension skills. By exploring topics like animal behavior, habitats, and conservation efforts, students gain a deeper understanding of the natural world, which enhances their research capabilities. This enriched learning environment not only supports academic growth but also empowers special education students to engage more confidently in their studies.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Caiola

  • Banking on Books

    Funded Oct 17, 2024

On behalf of my students I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the generous grant awarded to our school library. Your support has enabled me to significantly enhance the library's collection with essential resources in the field of finance.

This grant has allowed me to purchase a wide range of books on various financial topics, including personal finance, investing, entrepreneurship, and economic theory. These materials will be invaluable to my students, providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.

Your generosity will empower my students to become financially literate citizens and prepare them for future success. I am truly grateful for your commitment to education and for your belief in the power of books to inspire and inform.”

  • Library Basics

    Funded Jun 26, 2024

Thank you for donating some of the basic supplies that the library needs to start the school year off right. The tape will help extend the lives of our books and repair well loved titles. The post-it notes will help us stay organized, as we try to get computers into every student's hands.

These supplies may not seem like much, but the little things truly do mean a lot. We thank you for realizing this, and making your generous donation to our library. We really do appreciate your gift and all that it will allow us to do.”

  • Hola Readers

    Funded Jun 30, 2024

The timing could not have been more perfect. The first week of school MLL students came to the library for a scavenger hunt. As soon as the Spanish Book donations were put on display, students immediately started checking them out. In face, I think the Spanish books account for our highest circulation.

Thank you for understanding how important it is for our students to see themselves reflected in the collection. Thank you for allowing our students to read for enjoyment in their native language.”
