Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fabulous, twenty-five students are excited about experiencing kindergarten and for many of them, a school for the first time.
My students look forward to sharing about themselves and their experiences everyday they are in school.
They come to school ready to ask questions about the world around them. My students look forward to learning through interactive, hands-on activities.
Our school is in one of Chicago's most diverse communities and our classroom is reflective of this cultural and linguistic diversity.
My Project
These books will continue to support my students in their social and emotional development. My classroom library is a place where my students learn about a variety of topics. I carefully selected these books to meet the needs of my students.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose stories that help them regulate their emotions.
As a teacher of an inclusion class, my students have many different needs. My students already demonstrate excitement over books. These books will nurture their interest in books and support their emergent reader skills. With many options to choose from, students will continue to develop their reading abilities.
