My classroom is the inclusion classroom and my students have diverse needs. I work throughout the year to provide appropriate accommodations and modifications so that they can be their very best. My students are excited about carpet time and gathering with all of their friends. Currently, my students do not have a space of their own on our carpet. With tape, I have created lines as a way to organize students. However, since we spend time on our carpet every day, this tape has started to come off and my students are having a harder time finding their spot on the carpet. A new carpet will help my students quickly find their own spot. A new brightly colored carpet will increase their enthusiasm for learning. Additionally, my students will gain a sense of personal space. I will be able to use this carpet to provide preferential seating and help support my students in their independence.
