Ancient Egypt Novels for Book Discussions

My students need 10 copies of three book titles about ancient Egypt - "A Place in the Sun", "The Golden Goblet", and "The Pharaoh's Daughter". We also need 12 copies of "The Rosetta Stone".

I teach a self-contained 6th grade class of twenty-five students in a small diverse charter school in California. Our students are representative of the varied ethnic and socio-economic groups that make up our state.

We are expanding from a K-5 to a K-8 school and have just added a 6th grade. Starting a new classroom is challenging and we have had to buy tables, chairs, texts and more. There are limited funds for chapter books to supplement our study of ancient Egypt.

The three novels will excite my students to understand and appreciate the culture of ancient Egypt in a way that no text can. The Rosetta Stone is a non-fiction account of the way archaeologists unraveled the mysteries of hieroglyphics and is very compelling to students.

Your help will make it possible for my students to be excited about the life of people in a different and ancient culture.
