My students need 20 calculators to replace the nearly 20-year-old TI Math Explorers that are dying, one by one, as they put them to good use!

My Students

We want to be up-to-speed with math calculators so we can move right into the more complicated ones we'll encounter in the upper grades! Dinosaur calculators are better than NO calculators, but they are going extinct in our classroom!!

Brilliant, spunky fifth graders in this Utah elementary school come from good homes, score high in Math, and are ready to take the world by storm!

They adapt to any technology their teacher throws at them much faster than he can pick it up! They love to handle things that help them learn and confirm their math skills. They need an ample supply of excellent calculators at their fingertips.

My Project

Up-to-date calculators (specifically the ones requested) will be a regular part of our math toolkit. Students will use them for checking their work, solving complicated, multiple step math problems, speeding up the process of thinking a problem through, and preparing them to use the higher-level calculators (for algebra, etc.) that will be used routinely in the coming years.

I try to open all the doors for my students to be successful and confident in the world of mathematics.

Whatever is within my power, I want to smooth the way for them to move forward in their math skills and get enough momentum going to jettison them into their mathematical futures!
