This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is full of students who are respectful and responsible role models. They enter our classroom each day so eager to learn and ready to show off their smarts to anyone who comes into our learning space. I want to start the new school year with a bang by having all the materials my students and I will need to create anchor charts for our classroom.
An anchor chart is an artifact of classroom learning.
Just as a ship's anchor holds a ship in place, an anchor chart holds students' and teachers' thoughts and ideas in place. These tools are used to support instruction. As I teach a lesson, my students and I collaboratively create a chart that captures the most important content and relevant strategies. The anchor charts are displayed throughout the classroom to remind students of prior learning and help them make connections as new learning happens.
The materials that I am requesting will be used by my students and me to create anchor charts for our classroom. The students will use the pencils, highlighters, and markers with the post it notes, index cards, and clipboards as they work in small groups to discuss and write their thoughts and ideas. The essential learning will then be posted on the chart paper and displayed in our classroom. Please help my students get the materials they need to create anchor charts with me!
