Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students learn best through hands-on exploration and clearly structured learning spaces. This project will provide math manipulatives such as rekenreks, counting animals, chain links, magnetic tiles, and building blocks that allow students to model numbers, practice counting, and build early problem-solving skills. Organization tools including pocket charts, accordion files, classification folders, labels, binder clips, shelving, and storage bins will help keep materials accessible so students can work independently and transition smoothly between activities. Flexible seating, lighting, and display tools will also support small-group instruction and center-based learning.

When students can touch, build, organize, and explore, learning becomes meaningful and lasting.

These materials will transform my classroom into purposeful learning centers where students develop fine motor skills, math understanding, and confidence through play and exploration. Clear organization reduces distractions, while hands-on tools allow students at different levels to engage with the same concepts in meaningful ways. With these resources, my students will have a classroom environment that supports focus, curiosity, and academic growth every day.
