Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

“The benefits of being bilingual go beyond the ability to communicate in another language. Bilingualism gives kids a broader perspective of the world.” This quote speaks so much truth to myself and the community I teach.

My second graders have the amazing opportunity to learn two languages: Spanish and English.

Some of my students speak Spanish at home, while for the rest Spanish is brand new. It’s truly wonderful to teach young kids a language that is so prevalent in our state and country.

My Project

This project is all about providing my students and myself with the resources needed to have an organized and purposeful classroom.

The materials on my list will allow me to provide a better and more productive learning environment.

On my list I have things such as a color printer (which I don't have access to at my school site), headphones for students to use in small groups or to listen to audiobooks, a writing center to organize students writing tools, and some bookshelves so that I can continue building my classroom library. All of these things, among others, will ensure that each and every day will be a productive learning day!
