My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of curiosities! They absolutely love hands-on, active and engaging projects that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of lack of supplies and resources.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best varies greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, evidence-based instructions, and alternative learning modifications to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! Many of them have pre-verbal skills and communication development play a big part in their learning program. All of my students have an Individualized Learning Plan that helps them work on their target skills to achieve practical and functional skills needed to succeed. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in literacy and phonics. Learning is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. The resources online are unlimited. It would benefit my students to have most of the materials printed for them to use and bring home. Producing evidence of their learning can be key to encouraging them to work more relentlessly in their subject matter every day. I would like to have printer toners available in class to support this.
Emerging learners will often be fueled by encouragement and extensive support to organize their learning routines.
Seeing their work printed will validate their own progress and enable them to self-assess their own growth.
