Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am requesting materials for our first grade science unit on birds! Students are learning about bird beaks, bird feathers, and bird feet. With these materials, we are able to study birds closely, even if we are unable to leave our campus.

Your contribution will help ignite a love for birds and their bodies.

Our stuffed birds will serve as "mascots" for our students. Each class will be split into groups that will focus on different birds and their needs.

We will use the science viewers to have a first-hand look at what birds look like up close. We also have requested a specimen kit to examine with hand lenses.

Finally, we would like to use the bird feeder kits as a final project. Students will use them to enhance a bird's living experience in our local environment.
